Jetstar Vietnam: Flight booking online or at the airport. Travel time: about 7-8 hours, depending on the airport of departure and arrival city.

-VietJet Air: Vietnam domestic and international flights. Online booking for the Hanoi to Luang Prabang route is available

-Vietnam Airlines: Flight booking online or at ticket purchase at the airport counter. Travel time for all 3 aircraft varies from 7-8 hours. At the peak of the visit, you will have to plan in advance which airline to take niedrie

From Hanoi, Vietnam to Laos, one may travel by bus, train, and airplane. Here is a rundown of the three:

By Bus
Direct buses: Buses that go directly from Hanoi to Vientiane (the capital of Laos) and Luang Prabang run, the journey taking around 24-30 hours depending on routes and time of border crossing.
Routes in High Demand:
-Hanoi to Vientiane: Take this longer route, as it is more direct. Meet a change of bus or continuity at the border.
-Hanoi to Luang Prabang: Very popular, taking approximately 24 hours, most buses stop at Nam Phao border crossing.

By Train
Train to Vinh, by Bus-chartered to Laos:An overnight train from Hanoi to Vinh class 6-7 hours.
From Vinh, you can take a bus which takes you to the Lao border (Nam Phao) then catch another bus to your destination in Laos.

By Plane
Direct Flights:
-Hanoi to Vientiane: Many airlines like Vietnam Airlines and Lao Airlines avail of direct flights taking about 1.5 hours.
-Hanoi to Luang Prabang: Direct flights available, duration similar.

1. Least confronted would be the one of taking a bus or minivan within a tour from Hanoi to the border town of Dien Bien Phu in Vietnam. From there, they move into Laos and take local transport to further get to places such as Luang Prabang or Vientiane. This journey usually takes about 20-24 hours and includes the border formalities.

2. If you wanted to fly, the nearest airport would be that at Luang Prabang or Vientiane, with regular flights from Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport. Lao Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, or regional airlines offer flights into Luang Prabang or Vientiane. You might want to consider domestic flights as well as buses within the country to get you to your ultimate destination in Laos.
